While many of us will be in Las Vegas this weekend, whether it be to wrestle or to take our kids to wrestle in the Freakshow event, one parent will be headed to Miami to break the record for the most 70.3 Ironman Races done in a year. Michael Mendoza, the father of O3T Seth Mendoza, who some are now calling the Patriot Racer is currently tied with the Guinness Book of World Record's most Ironman 70.3 races completed in a year.
The feat itself amazing, but the cause behind it is even greater. The retired US Marine, who was awarded the Silver Star and Navy Cross for his heroics in the Middle East, is running to raise funds for the Semper Fi Fund.

"The Semper Fi Fund provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post 9/11 combat wounded, critically ill and catastrophically injured members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families, ensuring that they have the resources they need during their recovery and transition back to their communities. We work to ensure that no one is left behind." - Excerpt from the Semper Fi Fund web page.
We met Mike at the Roller Productions Tulsa Nationals coaching his son Seth Mendoza. Seth could easily be considered one of the best wrestlers in the nation at his Age & Weight, while also maintaining high marks in school! We truly believe in the slogan of the O3T, Inspire Greatness, and Mike is setting the bar!
We highly encourage anyone who can afford it to donate to the cause. All his races are self-funded and 100% of the proceeds go to the Semper Fi Fund to support the heroes who go to battle for us. We also ask that you please share the news throughout or amazing wrestling community to help support the cause! Keep it up, Patriot Racer!
